SAGS HOSTS MAIDEN ALUMNI REUNION: RECONNECTING BONDS

Reported by Paul Oluwafemi OGUNTEGBE

St. Albert the Great Seminary marked a significant milestone on Wednesday, 13 November 2024 with its first-ever alumni reunion, held as part of the 2024 Sags Family Week celebrations. Since its inception in 2016, St. Albert the Great Seminary has graduated two classes, with many of its former seminarians now serving as priests across various archdioceses and dioceses. The reunion provided an opportunity for these alumni to return to their alma mater, reconnect with their brothers, and express gratitude for their formative experiences.
Notable attendees included: Rev. Fr. Isaac Kolawole (Ekiti Diocese, Class of 2022), Rev. Fr. Baranjoko Joseph (Ibadan Archdiocese, Class of 2022), Rev. Fr. Anthony Fasakin (Ibadan Archdiocese, Class of 2023) and Rev. Fr. Adeniyi Joseph (Ibadan Archdiocese, Class of 2023).
The Rector, Very Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Adebayo Lewis, warmly welcomed the alumni, emphasizing that their presence serves as an inspiration to the seminarians still in formation. Adding that their continued connection with the Seminary is a beacon of hope and encouragement to their brothers in formation. He therefore urges them to be faithful ambassadors of Christ in their ministries.
While making his remark, Rev. Fr. Anthony Fasakin, the immediate past senior prefect of the Seminary commenting on the event said, "It was such an amazing experience returning to a place I confidently still call home. Lots of memories came rushing through my mind and they filled my heart with nothing but Thanksgiving."
